The response of 3S (as I have done here) may be ambiguous.
Is it a Game force promising 13+ points, or an invitation bid showing only 11 - 12 points ?
If it is the former, what to do with Spade support and 11-12 points ?
I suggest the following.
- Respond 2S with trump support and 6-10 points.
- Respond 3S with trump support and 11-12 points.
- Respond 4S with trump support, a void or singleton and 6-10 points.
- Respond with a new suit, here 2D, with trump support and 13+ points. This forces partner to bid once more (here 3NT). After his reply raise to 4S.
